leandraholmesSometimes, unfortunately, both seem to go hand in hand.
Remember the 'wank' we had over at _pinto? How a small handfull of buckets of beans let themselves get carried away to say a few rather unpleasant things aboutthe ship-wrecker the new supposed boyfriend? Well, it was a bit upsetting, and it was good that we all reacted and talked about it and had the mods put their foot down to end the wank before it got out of hand.
Retrospectively though, I think we can really just LAUGH about this tiny itsy bitsy piece of mini-wank when we compare it to the enormous BRAIN-FARTING SHIT that's happening in the SPN fandom.
I used to like being a Supernatural-Fan. It was all good fun, watching and discussing the episodes, making fanrt and fanmixes, talking about the awesome music... But those of you who, like me, have had close encounters of the wacky kind with some of the J²-shippers may already know why I felt more and more ashamed and annoyed to count myself among those people.
(Note: I know not all SPN fans are J² shippers. But they're a big group)
Now I could go into detail and give you my personal account - a long history of seriously delusional tinhatting, girlfriend bashing and endorcing fake twitter accounts (remember how fandom police was suddenly the bad guy for trying to get Stephanie Ware and the other nutters of Twitter and blogs?), but you either already know the tale or aren't interested in it. Plus it would probably take me all night ;)
What I witnessed again today on twitter was something that had me literally laugh hysterically and want me to bang my head against the wall.
A Twitter-User - I won't mention her name since she's already getting enough, admittedly justified, crap - tweeted Jim Beaver:
nice try covering for J2 being together! We all know that Jensen & Jared are making valentine's love to each other ;)
Okay, that alone is an UTTERLY EMBARRASSING 4th-wall breach, but okay. It was said with a wink. Let that person embarrass herself.
Thing just is, ever since... EVER both Danneel and Gen, then girlfriends, now wives of Jensen and Jared, have had to endure so much crap and abuse by fans who state that they are just beards, or are only after J²s money and so on, that it is understandable for Jim Beaver to react a little... well, shall we say sensitively. He replied.
Maybe it's just in fun, but don't post that nonsense on my page.
Which still was pretty polite. He didn't even say 'shit', just 'nonsense' and left the possibility of it being just a joke.
Then she replied, among many other things:
just so you know, I was having the worse v-day ever & your reply made it 10 times worst! Thanks.
Oh, and right after her first @reply to Jim, she made another tweet:
It's the end of the day & I STILL wanna kill someone!!!! Would somebody please brings Danneel in front of me so I can kill her?!!!!! >:O
IF Jim went and had a look at her profile, which I'm sure isn't completely unlikely, then he SAW THAT. And even if that, too, was just a "joke", it's so way out of line, I can't even!
Long story short: She kept bitching at him for ruining her day and for hurting her so much, and that everybody was giving her crap now because of him, and in the end he even asked people to stop "sending anything unpleasant to" her.
This is just ONE example that proves to me once again that - not ALL! I will never say that - but that many, many of those fans are completely delusional lunatics that know neither respect nor seem to have any grasp of reality. Trust me, if you had seen and read everything I have in my many years of being a SPN fan, you'd know. This one here might have sounded like she was joking, but there have been so many who kept twitter-spamming Danneel for what a 'whore' she was (yes, I didn't only read that word once or twice but many times) or writing lengthy articles about why they think Jensen and Jared ARE, for a FACT, in love and just have Danneel and Gen as their beards (um, btw, even IF that were true wouldn't J² have CHOSEN them to be their beards? Still no reason to bash them. Just tell your tinhat Gen and Daneel have a lesbian love affair and everyone can be happy. Case closed! *rolls eyes*)
The bottomline of this all is that I am really incredibly thankful for the awesomeness that is the Pinto fandom. We have tinhats too, and we wear them proudly. But most of us seem reasonable enough to distinguish between their fantasies and reality, i.e. something that they can never be 100% sure about and which simply isn't for THEM to judge.
Anyway. Enough of the rant. This is actually also supposed to be a praise to all my fellow beans and to every other fan in any other fandom that thinks about this similar as I do :)

These tinhats were fully expecting the hobbits to walk hand in hand down the red carpet of the NZ premiere of the last LOTR film. Didn't happen. Oh and Datalounge/Prancing pony, gawd where do I even begin with that one? Somewhere on the internet there was/is an archive of all that asshattery, linked through through fandom_wank. It became such a huge thing, it got it's own comm called dl_anon.
The hobbits knew this was going on and kind of encouraged it, they knew it was a bunch of foolishness but in the end the two hobbits in question embarked on two very long relationships with women. Dom was with the lady from Lost and Elijah was with a musician lady (and to this day I still hear little comments about these women were "beards", totally amazing).

I could unfollow her immediately and now I hope there's nothing like that left in my little Misha-loving corner of the spn fandom.
Because everyone else in my timeline was just as shocked and protective of Jim as I was. I still think the majority of the fandom is okay and just because the most crazy ones are the loudest it doesn't mean the whole fandom sucks ass. Just saying :P

I thought it was really sweet that Jim tweeted about Jensen and Danneel in the green room, only a lunatic would be upset by that, even if they do add a little wink at the end it's just rude.
Anyway my point is - while Jensen and Misha are fucking all this is just silly nonsense anyway.

There have been ridiculous things that happened, but that was either down to personal problems or our latest dilemma with Torres leaving for Chelsea which probably is putting a test to the fandom/pairing like nothing else could.
And it caused a few hate-filled rants I'm absolutely not comfortable with, neither do I agree or think they're justified. It just makes me sad, and I can't believe love for someone can actually turn to such hate without having ever known the person. Even though, yes, he fucking hurt us all unbelievably.
On the other hand I hear that there are little wars going on on sites like football_ontd, but since I never ever take even a step into that comm I'm perfectly fine. ^^ At least in the Dan/Nando fandom it's mostly flowers and butterflies. *g*

In my head the whole lot of them are bisexual, poly and kinky as all hell. The odds of that are as likely as Jared and Jensen being lovers and both of their wives being beards.
