The Fantastic Adventures of B-Rex Girl

"So, your mutant power is to transform into any animal you like?" Charles asks with an almost unreadable expression, but his eyes might show the same kind of disbelief and amusement as displayed on the other mutants' faces.
An orange dinosaur the size of a large hound blinks up at them from bright blue eyes and nods.
“And you choose to transform into a baby dinosaur because...?” Alex asks, flabbergasted while Erik eyes the creature with skepticism.
The dinosaur gives an odd, throaty sound like a sigh, then swirls around and stands in front of them in the shape of a young woman.
“Because it's cute?!” she retorts, somewhat annoyed with everyone's lack of understanding something so obvious.
“Um. Yes. Very well,” Charles says, suppressing a sigh. “That's... a good reason.”
The woman, Leandra is her human name but she prefers to be called B-Rex (whatever the 'B' stands for), grins broadly and claps her hands enthusiastically before she swirls around again and resumes her previous shape. Starting to chase a fly that had just landed on her round and, yes, admittedly cute nose, she hops around the entrance hall merrily and doesn't mind the 114-year-old vase her thick dinosaur-tail pushes from a side table.
Charles winces and sighs.
“Next time, you should double-check whether the mutants you're recruiting are mentally sane,” Erik whispers in a low, admonishing tone but a smirk curling around his lips. Charles couldn't agree more.
