The Bible and LGBT issues
Jun. 7th, 2011 07:19 pmThe way most conservative Christians today view LGBT issues and justify their opinion with the bible and God's will is something that bothers many of us. Us, gays, lesbians, trangendered, bisexual, undecided or friends and family of LGBT people. However, the most popular interpretation is not the only one. Many scholars as well as believing Christians have studied these topics, and there is a great, great deal of evidence that traditional interpretations may even be completely wrong.
If you are or know the person that recently said he/she had problems believing in transsexuality please read this: Transfaithonline. There are many resources and articles on that site, written by transgendered Christians.
1. Transsexuality is not a sin. a) Eunuchs - which is believed to be the term with which transsexuals were being described then - were worshipped, honored and respected. b) The often cited argumet that the bible forbids cross-dressing only refers to cult rites or prostitution.
2. (And this is the trickier part) "Transgender is a flaw of nature. But God doesn't make mistakes?"
